I proposed a card-based system similar to Wilkie's back in 2007.
It was a theoretical exercise that really needs trials to prove, especially considering the costs involved.
I don't like poker machines. One particular day (when heavily intoxicated) they stole over $1000 from me.
A bet limit of $1 would have made that more difficult.
I would still have lost $100 or $50 or $20 on many other occasions, but not $1000. Since I am not a 'problem gambler' as I could stop myself then (with some difficulty) then a $1 limit is probably a fair compromise.
The cards can still be trialed however: say in 5 randomly-selected postcodes? |
